Between working on my new book due out in September, writing and editing the second Blondes of Bel Air book, reading and researching health issues, and trying to review products and books, my head is spinning! I haven’t focused a whole lot specifically on green beauty but that doesn’t mean I don’t have my eye on some items.
A place I love to look through is The Choosy Chick, an online shop with carefully curated products that are green and clean. Here is what has caught my attention:
I am always looking for products that will reduce the signs of aging such as skin discoloration and wrinkles.
The AKNARI Brightening Youth Serum from MUN promises to soften fine lines and brighten skin tone. I’ve tried products from this brand before and was not disappointed!
Lightening and Brightening Serum from Kimberly Sayer will reduce dark spots and lighten pigmentation. What happens as you move towards turning forty is that any time spent baking in the sun as a teenager trying to get tan will show up on your hands, face, chest. Its a fact of life unless you were very committed to using a good sunscreen and let’s face it, teenagers aren’t known for applying an SPF 50.
My time spent at the Jersey shore in my youth is showing up in dark spots now. I need this serum, ASAP!
A good eye cream is essential for everyone! This one, DN-UNIK’s Eye Contour Serum, brightens, smoothes and soothes. Looks perfect for day and night. It also reduces puffiness which is what I need every morning.
This Green Tea Plus Coffee Bean Eye Balm won the YOGA JOURNAL 2016 Natural Beauty Award so it must be good! I like an eye product with caffeine because it helps de-puff eyes like nothing else! This would be the first thing I reached for in the morning if I had it in my skincare arsenal!
This Lily Lolo Eyelid Primer looks like its just what I need to erase any discoloration around eyes (like dark circles) and prime eyelids for eyeshadow. Made with jojoba and argan seed oils, it nurtures skin and keeps it soft and supple.
My favorite primer has been discontinued but this one by Inika looks like it might be a good replacement. Read the description here,
Inika Organic Pure Primer creates an even canvas for foundation application and improves the staying power of your makeup, all while hydrating the skin with certified organic essential oils of lavender, lemon myrtle, and jojoba. It’s perfect for dry/normal skin and can be worn alone or under foundation.
We love Hyaluronic Acid – why? Because it diminishes the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles by plumping the skin, provides extra hydration, increases skin elasticity, and provides a youthful and dewy glow!
It primes skin AND treats it? YES.
I would be hard-pressed to pick a single cosmetic that I cannot live without but lip gloss would certainly be up there. These from Au Naturale offer high shine (a must!) and beautiful color. And they are 100% natural, cruelty-free, and vegan.
What is on your 2018 Green Beauty Wish List? You can find all of these products and much more over at The Choosy Chick!
