I have really been enjoying Ayurveda Lifestyle Wisdom by Acharya Shunya. I am always seeking solutions to health issues and living a healthy life in general and I love learning about alternative medicine.
Acharya’s own story is very interesting and you can read it here. She learned from a young age that everything we need to heal comes from within.
The author describes Ayurveda, a whole-body way of healing, based on the: “belief that health and wellness depend on a delicate balance between the mind, body, and spirit.” Acharya learned the components of this from her grandfather, “Baba” who was a mystic teacher, healer, and spiritual elder.
This gorgeously written book shows the reader the importance of self-care for each Dosha (body type according to Ayurveda) and how to adopt healing principles in your day to day life. I find it very soothing and uplifting to read Acharya’s words and wisdom. I always love a guide that’s written in a way that is easy to follow and understand. The steps you can take to help your health are easy and practical but make a huge difference.
Things like simple yoga stretches in the morning, warm water with fresh ginger when you get up, daily affirmations, can have a positive impact on your day and improve your health.
There is so much in this book that you are sure to find little nuggets of information that will help you on your wellness journey. By shifting your thoughts and attention in small ways, you can achieve excellent health in mind and body.
