I have been looking everywhere for a long-lasting, pigmented concealer that will cover up dark circles and everything else I want to hide. I had been hearing about Tarte’s Shape Tape forever so I decided to buy a tube and put it to the test.

I had IT Cosmetics – Bye Bye Under Eye which I’ve used and liked for years, and I picked up some of the Maybelline Age Rewind.

I am sharing my thoughts on each of these.

Keep in mind I am in my forties with dark circles.  This is not a young twenty-year-old talking to you, I have things I want to cover up!

Every morning I apply a day cream that contains hyaluronic acid – I’ve been one made by DN- UNIK each morning and I like it a lot.

This is my first step to getting ready.

Then I start with the concealer.

Shapetape1

SHAPE TAPE by Tarte is sold online and in Sephora and Ulta.

I bought this from Ulta.  I like Tarte because their products are formulated without parabens, mineral oil, or phthalates.

I figured if it lasted a while and it works well, it would be worth every penny.

It comes with a sponge tip applicator.  I found the best way to use this was to dot a little on my hand then apply around my eyes.

Dabbing it directly under my eyes was too much product for that area.  I have a small brush that I use to blend this concealer.

Shape Tape is pretty thick, highly pigmented.  You don’t want to overdo it because it can look too thick.

I liked this product, it does a nice job of decreasing the look of dark circles.  Using a light hand when applying will help with how thick it can be.

Slightly drying if I don’t use the day cream first.

Byebye

BYE BYE UNDER EYE by IT Cosmetics is an amazing concealer for anything you want to hide whether its dark circles, scars, pimples, imperfections.

It is in a tube that you squeeze so keep in mind that this is heavily pigmented and you don’t need more than a small blob.

Less than the tip of a pencil eraser will be enough for both eye areas.

The waterproof version is sold on Amazon… CHECK IT OUT HERE!.  I have both the regular and the waterproof, I find the waterproof has a little bit of a stickiness to it but works extremely well.

I need to use a light cream under this so it doesn’t settle in fine lines. Because such a small amount is required, a tube will probably last for a year.

Agerewind

You can find this Maybelline Age Rewind Dark Circle Eraser anywhere beauty products are sold. It runs about $10, I bought it from Target.

This product has a sponge tip applicator, turn the top and the concealer comes out through the sponge.

You don’t need a ton, just enough to dot around the eyes and blend well.

This is the most natural looking of the concealers mentioned here. It’s creamy and medium pigment which makes it nice for older skin that tends to be dry.

It’s not drying at all so I can skip the face cream if I wanted to and it doesn’t crease. I love how lightweight it is!

I was actually pretty impressed with this one and would buy it again.
