How To Easily Relax When You Are Stressed

Mindfulness meditation: You should try whilst keeping the strain in your life as far as possible. Stress is directly related to many health issues including insomnia, ulcers, heart attacks, strokes, and heart attacks. Getting enough slumber will help you ward off unnecessary stress and will even decrease your risk for such maladies.

Journaling

I know writing helps people process their thoughts. Don’t worry about grammar or spelling, just get words to paper and let it flow.

Hot Shower or Bath

There’s a reason that there is something called Shower Thoughts. Most people find showers and baths, water in general, to be very soothing.

Eat a Healthy Snack

Whenever I get super stressed or worried, I look at what I am eating. If I am not eating healthy, I feel much worse! Reach for some protein and nutrient-rich foods like berries.

Listen to a Podcast

There are so many good podcasts to listen to depending on what you like. Learn something or be entertained.

Sit Outside 

Everyday when it’s not too hot outside, I like to sit on my porch for a few minutes and just be quiet. I listen to the birds chirp, the wind through the trees, noises from the neighborhood.

Go For a Walk

Even a short walk can boost your mood. Getting exercise is always a good idea and helps decrease stress.

Do a Yoga Workout

There are so many fantastic yoga workouts on YouTube! From beginner to expert, there is something for everyone. And bending, stretching and breathing is a positive way to de-escalate stress.

Listen to Soothing Nature Sounds

If you have a smartphone you can find apps that feature nature sounds like rain on a roof, wind, waves.  There are also lots of sounds and soothing music on YouTube.

Take a Nap

Sometimes you just need to grab a blanket and cuddle up with some pillows.

Bake

I find baking and being in the kitchen soothing. I love to bake, it takes my mind off whatever is bothering me for a while.

Read a Book

This goes without saying! I’m a HUGE fan of reading and a good book will bring you into another time and place. I love losing myself in a good story.
