Winter Beauty Products I Am Loving Now

I haven’t been blogging a whole lot about beauty but trust me, I am still exploring what’s new and amazing.  Always on the prowl for AWESOME beauty, skincare, and hair care, I am interested to hear any recommendations, find me here!

I love natural and organic skincare and am constantly searching for miracle products that are not toxic.

Here is what I am using and loving during these chilly winter months!

Essential Balm 30ml

As always I am using the Kari Gran Balm which is very hydrating everywhere you need moisture. I especially like it on my lips and cuticles before bed so the nurturing ingredients can sink in and really work. Also, I always have my Lip Whip next to me for frequent application as my lips tend to get chapped in the winter thanks to the heat in the house and the cool outdoors. The Peppermint Tinted Lip Whip is sitting next to my keyboard right this second. I am never without it.

Kari Gran has a gift guide detailing some great gift ideas for the beauty lover on your list, go here for more!

If you are looking for more balms to choose from, check out Rare Indigo from Mahalo Skincare. I am digging out the very last tiny bit from my jar. I use this in place of moisturizer when I need more hydration on my skin, especially around the eye area.

This product smells so heavenly, I cannot get enough of it. I need it in spray form so I can spritz it on my pillow before sleep. You cannot go wrong with anything from this amazing brand. I love everything I have ever tried.

If you are polishing your nails and notice them drying out, get some Sally Hansen Vitamin E Nail and Cuticle Oil which is what I am using.  My nail beds are dry all year, I don’t know why. My nails always grow quickly but they are consistently dry! This product softens the skin around the nails and makes nails and hands look much healthier! Contains Natural Essential Oil Complex with Vitamin E, Wheat Germ, Apricot Kernel, Aloe.

I like Sally Hansen products because I can find them everywhere and they are affordable. I seem to be at Target a lot and buy nail products there, especially the Insta-Dri polish which dries super fast and lasts several days.

Laque Extrême Hair Spray

I am currently using the Kerastase Laque Extreme Strong Hold Hairspray and am impressed. Even on a windy day, my waves still held up! When you spray, it comes out as a very fine mist and hair is still soft. It doesn’t look or feel as if your hair is lacquered in place and its easy to brush out. I am also using and loving Densimorphose Hair Mousse.

Its been a while since I have used mousse! Remember when it was a big deal back in the late 80s? And you’d scrunch your hair up with loads of mousse? Thankfully the ingredients have evolved and mousse no longer leaves hair crispy and crunchy.

This formula was created to give hair density and volume. A little, less than a golf ball size, gives my fine hair body.

Densimorphose® Hair Mousse

It contains:

  • Power Renewal Complex + Ceramide technology to restore and strengthen the hair fiber
  • Hyaluronic acid: A natural mineral that helps hair attract and retain moisture; capable of holding 1000x’s its own weight in water, it creates a plump, hydrated hair fiber
  • Gluco-Peptide: Restores a smooth, uniform surface to the hair cuticle to increase shine and resiliency
  • Ceramide: A lipid that strengthens the hair fiber while protecting against further hair stress

HALL OF FAME - JOSH ROSEBROOK HYDRATING ACCELERATOR - Caroline Hirons

I have been using and loving Josh Rosebrook’s Hydrating Accelerator for a long time, the scent is positively incredible! It’s part of my daily post- face wash routine. I spritz this all over my face, neck, chest and allow it to sink in and prep skin for serum or oil. If you are looking to swap out your toxic products for clean, green beauty, Josh’s products are a wonderful place to start. Every single item is pure and perfect.

Another product to add to your natural beauty arsenal is the Rose Geranium Face Moisturizer which I have been using sparingly since only a small amount is necessary for the whole face. This not only smells like roses, but it also has a wonderful thick buttery texture that sinks into skin. It contains natural, clean ingredients and leaves your skin incredibly soft. I also love the eye cream from HollyBeth Organics.

Another terrific brand is Kahina Giving Beauty and I have tried several items from them, all excellent.

I like the Prickly Pear Seed Oil which is helpful in decreasing spots and other skin issues. Since my under eye area has been looking tired, dark, and old, I am liberally applying this nightly. The rollerball is perfect for the eye area. The oil is moisturizing and very nourishing.

For makeup, I am loving a couple of brands.

Let’s start with Jane Iredale, a very clean mineral makeup that works well and lasts a long time. I am obsessed with the blush, lip gloss, and concealer. For years I have used Jane Iredale makeup and have never been disappointed.  I reach for this blush day after day, I love the texture and the pigmented color.

Another makeup brand I use is W3LL People. I was happy to see their products in the green beauty section of Target recently! I have long been a HUGE FAN of W3LL People starting when they were among the very first clean, green brands to burst onto the makeup scene. They have added many products since then.

I have tried and currently use many products including their Narcissist Foundation Stick, Bio-Tint Moisturizer SPF, Setting Powder. Also, check out their Nudist Multi-Use Cream Stick. I like the mascara and liquid eyeliner,  neither of them bothers my sensitive eyes.
