.Have you heard of The Choosy Chick? This is a wonderful online shop to buy safe, non-toxic beauty products. One of the most frequently asked questions when people start their green beauty journey is, “Where can I buy products?” and The Choosy Chick is a great place to find what you need with carefully vetted products for all of your needs.
Let’s start by checking out the Evolvh Restore Kit, (ideal for travel by the way!) which includes Evolvh Ultrashine Shampoo, Conditioner, Smart Start Leave-in Conditioner and Reconstructing Masque. These are suitable for dry hair especially dry, color treated hair that is prone to frizz (thats me!).
If I’ve learned one thing about frizzy hair is that it’s porous and damp air tends to swell those locks resulting in frizz. You want to treat hair to lots of moisture without weighing it down which is the key to smoother hair. It’s a real challenge to hydrate frizzy hair and I’m so thankful when I find products that work like these.
Yes, Evolvh hair care is great for dry hair but any type will benefit from using these gentle products. The quality is total luxury, creamy and high end.
Magic Organic Apothecary makes some truly wonderous products like the Aphrodite Facial Oil. A blend of rosehip, rose geranium, yarrow, and marshmallow extract work to soothe and calm skin as well as fight signs of aging, you know those pesky fine lines and wrinkles along with a loss of radiance.
I’m going to spotlight the Rosehip oil in here because it’s one of my very favorite oils!
This oil contains vitamins, fatty acids, and antioxidants and is a cure-all for so many skin issues which include not only plumping up fine lines but fading scars and hyperpigmentation. It’s not a greasy oil but absorbs quickly into the skin which makes this Aphrodite oil a “dry” oil, meaning it’s not going to leave a slick residue all over your face.
I am loving everything I have tried from Magic Organic Apothecary!
The first thing that stood out for me with this DN-UNIK Age Defying Cream is the scent, its very light but pleasant and natural but very, very nice. The second thing is the creamy texture. I would slather this all over head to toe if I could!
Containing Hyaluronic Acid (naturally sourced), this light cream helps brighten skin, add moisture to fine lines, hydrates and can be used under makeup.
Sea Fennel Extract, Buckbean, Sesame Oil, Witch Hazel Hydrosol all come together in this cream to soothe, add moisture and improve skin’s texture.
Though it’s called a day cream, my favorite time to use this is at night, its so light and refreshing that I love applying it.
Here’s a brand that’s been on my radar forever, Inika. In the green beauty circles, this brand has been praised for being non-toxic, high quality and people love it because it performs well.
Good news! This pressed mineral eye shadow duo is long lasting and won’t crease or fade. There are a few different color combos to choose from so you have options. I recommend checking out the entire line of Inika if you are in the market for cosmetics.
Another question I get ALL THE TIME is about non-toxic mascara. We want clean mascara that gives us long, voluminous lashes!
My general rule is to always seek out clean, green makeup and if it’s not clean and green then at least let it be vegan and or cruelty-free. Luckily this one from Lily Lolo is everything.
Check it out:
Completely free of GMO’s, nano particles, talc, additives, harsh chemicals, parabens, bismuth oxychloride, dyes, fillers, synthetic fragrance, petroleum based chemicals, and other questionable ingredients.
This super black mascara is really wonderful- it lengthens lashes and adds deep color. I apply to one eye, allow it to dry a little while I’m applying to the other eye and then add more concentrating on the ends of lashes. DONE. Wonderful lashes with color that lasts all day.
The Choosy Chick has a really fabulous array of products and the site is designed in a way that is clear and easy to navigate. Its easy to shop by brand or concern but every time I go on the site, I find myself looking at everything!
Another question I get frequently is about finding green, clean beauty on a budget and The Choosy Chick offers affordable brands such as Acure, Badger, and Splurge Skincare. I try to always use clean skincare and allow some wiggle room for color cosmetics.
