Green Beauty Characters Tag!

Sarita from Peace on the Skin & Peace Within tagged me on the latest beauty questionnaire, thank you Sarita! I was beginning to feel left out, haha! These little tags go around and we all share answers and learn about each other. Here’s some riveting information to learn about me. In short- I love to read and I’m sad Breaking Bad is over.

Here we go!

on my nightstand you’ll find:

A stack of novels, my kindle, lavender oil, Badger Sleep Balm, hand lotion, my alarm clock, some magazines. Its cluttered!

the literary character I’m most like is (take this quiz and share your answer!):

I have never seen the Lord of the Rings movies but I took the quiz and apparently, I’m like the Cate Blanchett character Galadriel! “She was the mightiest and fairest of all the Elves left in Middle-earth.”

I am obsessed with travel and photography.

 I’m currently obsessed with:

Anything and everything gluten free and healthy plus anything green, clean and non toxic for my body and hair. I’m also obsessed with travel and photography. And writing my novels. And reading. Right now I am obsessing over a trip somewhere I can take loads of interesting photos.

my favorite superhero is:

I think everyone has said Wonder Woman and I am no different. Mostly its because of her totally cute costume not so much her super powers although having some kind of powers would be nice. She first came on the scene in 1941 and hasn’t aged a day! Check out this list of Superheroes.

favorite beauty product of 2013:

This is a really tough question! I might have to go with Josh Rosebrook’s Cacao Mask, it energizes skin and brightens the complexion! But I also love Osmia Organics Sunset body oil because it smells so amazing. Clearly I cannot pick just one product. Since going green and clean, I have discovered so many terrific brands and I am powerless to choose only one. I can tell you that I repeatedly order Annmarie Gianni’s oil for oily & acne prone skin because it really works to reduce oil and pore size!

if I could have dinner with anyone dead or alive it would be:

Probably Marilyn Monroe. I used to be very into her and a few years ago I did a lot of research, talked to her friends and wrote a novel about her. (Its coming out soon!) I am really intrigued about her death and want to know what really happened.

winter is coming – how do you prep your skin for battle?

I do everything the same year round, I take really good care of my skin, drink loads of warm water with lemon, moisturize my face and body every morning and night and get as much sleep as I can.

my perfect date night makeup consists of:

A full face of non toxic beauty products from eyeshadow to concealer to lipstick. But date night… what’s that? We never get time alone!

my go-to skin-beautifying snack/drink is:

I take a spoonful of coconut oil and a glass of warm water before bed. I don’t know if it helps much but I like to think it does. Coconut oil is so good for you and based on the Ayurvedic doshas, I need loads of oils and warmth for my body to properly function inside and out! (go here to find your dosha)

 my tv boyfriend is:

Walter White from Breaking Bad. I finally watched all seasons of this amazing show and I became a little obsessed, yo.

if my evening clutch could only hold one beauty item it would be:

First of all, I’d never buy a clutch that could only hold one thing! But I do feel naked without my lipgloss so that would have to be it!

one beauty tip I would pass on to my real/fictional daughter is:

Take care of your skin! Drink lots of water, never go to bed with makeup on, moisturize, wear sunscreen and stay away from toxic beauty products. Also, because I clearly cannot limit my answers, I would tell her that she needs to keep a positive and happy attitude about everything, keep calm, do yoga, get plenty of sleep and be kind to everyone she meets. “Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle.”

the most nostalgic item from my childhood is:

It has to be this cookie jar. My mom has had it since the 1970’s.  I looked it up and its from the 1930’s and is now worth about $150! I love it. I got really good at lifting the lid to sneak cookies out but don’t tell my mom.

my favorite tv show of the moment is:

I’m not into many shows, I really don’t have a favorite. I watch BRAVO TV’s housewives shows, Project Runway and Survivor and couldn’t pick only one. My very favorite was Breaking Bad but that’s over now and I’m pretty sad about it. I think I rather read a really good book than watch TV.

my favorite quote is:

“Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined.”
Henry David Thoreau

  1. Cindy, how wonderful to get more insights into your world. If we would hang out we would get lost in Barnes & Noble together. It’s one of my favorite spaces. Getting into a good book is such a gift. I love hearing your recommendations and can’t wait to read your book about Marilyn Monroe. How fascinating! You never cease to surprise me with your talents, special lady! Thank you for sharing this window of you. And that cookie jar is absolutely priceless!! XOXO
