More Academy Awards style – last set

I can only dream of being invited  to the Academy Awards. So let a girl dream for a minute okay? I chose a gorgeous dress that reminds me of  one that Marilyn Monroe wore in How to Marry A Millionaire.  Deep Chanel polish because I love a really dark nail. Flat shoes because my back hurts when I’m on my feet and you know, I’d be on my feet, chatting with A-listers all night long! Definitely false lashes, NARS Orgasm blush which is complimentary to almost everyone’s skin. Pink lips. Smoky eye. My evening bag would be big enough to carry all my makeup for frequent touch-ups. Who knows, maybe someday I’ll get to go. As a seat filler perhaps…

Like  Carey Mulligan, Anna Kendrick can go one of two ways for the night. Young, flirty and daring or more old school glamorous. I love each dress and wish they were hanging in my own closet. The blue dress paired with that NARS nail polish with beachy makeup works just as well as a more mature asymmetrical red gown and diamond accessories. Hair could be long and wavy with the blue gown or pulled into a low bun in the red dress. oh, I wish I was a stylist. I’d do everything on Polyvore and email my clients.

I don’t usually like seperates for formal nights but I think Maggie Gyllenhaal could pull it off. With this silky blouse and long skirt, a fur shrug and glam accessories- including that big blue art deco ring, she would definitely land on best dressed lists. I’m deeply in love with those shoes. And I threw the umbrella into the mix because its so pretty. She could pull her hair back a little and have a soft wave. She’s the type that might work the pin curls and look good while doing so.
