I saw something the other day about how unsafe implants are and that lead me to look into this topic. I always thought saline/silicone implants were really just salt water within a safe plastic shell but this is not true. Seeing how implants can lead to serious illness, I wanted to delve deeper into what exactly makes up implants.

Did you know that many women suffer from the following autoimmune diseases after having a breast augmentation:  Connective Tissue Disease, Chronic Fatigue, Scleroderma, Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis, and Fibromyalgia? Over the years I’ve considered getting implant surgery but always end up deciding against it. Maybe because I didn’t have a great experience with getting a nose job (read about that mess here) and Im nervous about any other surgery going wrong.

The information is hard to find. If you look up anything about breast implants, you will loads of information about how they are safe and very few women have issues after the implants are placed in the body. And that may be true. So many women get this surgery and are fine. I had a friend who had implants done ten years ago and never had an issue then one day the implant popped. She had one normal looking breast and one completely deflated. I wondered about the contents of the implant and she waved away my concerns. “Its just salt water!” she said. But still, what exactly is in a breast implant?

Here’s what is found in the outer shell of the implant, all heavy metals:

And what happens if the implants tear or rupture and all of those toxins leak into the body? Mold and bacteria can grow which can lead to other illnesses.

I  HIGHLY recommend you research as much as you can before getting this surgery.
