When I received the opportunity to review Violets Are Blue Skincare, I immediately jumped.

YES PLEASE. This brand has long been on my radar and I am so excited to share my thoughts with you.

The story the brand is a touching one; a breast cancer diagnosis was what spurred Cynthia Besteman to investigate the ingredients in her personal care products and discovered a plethora of toxins, many of which were (and still are) linked to diseases. It’s truly mind blowing when you learn how many nasty chemicals are in everyday products. Unfortunately, a devastating diagnosis is often what makes people sit up and take notice.

Cynthia’s research led her to create her own line of safe skincare using non-toxic ingredients, you will find lots of good stuff in Violets Are Blue, nothing dangerous. No parabens, sulfates, alcohol, synthetic fragrance or any ingredient that poses a hazard to your health.

The beautiful violet colored Miron glass jars are designed to protect what’s inside and not allow sunlight to spoil or dimish the special oils and herbal extracts. Let’s take a closer look…

I am really picky about cleansers; I don’t like when a cleanser leaves my skin feeling too tight but I don’t like it too greasy either. This one is just right. The White Tea and Carrot Seed cleanser is gorgeously crafted using ingredients like Evening Primrose Oil, Green Tea and White Tea, Carrot Seed Oil and Lavender Oil. You can just imagine how it smells- calming and lovely.

This gentle, non-foaming cleanser infuses skin with nutrients while removing makeup and toxins. Skin is left clean and bright. I use it at night but my favorite time to cleanse with this is morning, when I need a gentle cleanse to remove the serum and eye cream from the night before.

Love it.

This Smoothing Clay Mask also smells so good! Mix with a little water then apply to face. It’s designed to freshen up skin by eliminating impurities and when you wash off, a more radiant complexion is revealed.

Featured ingredients included Powdered Coconut for velvet smooth skin, Rock Rose to decrease fine lines and wrinkles, and White Clay to stimulate circulation. I’ve noticed my skin is more even toned when I use this mask. Its very gentle thanks to the chamomile.

Powdered Quinoa (Chenopodium Husk Powder), Powdered Brown Rice (Oryza Sativa), Coconut Milk Powder (Cocos Nicifera), Kaolin Clay, White Clay (Kaolin), Special Blend of Geranium, Palmarosa, Rose, Lavender, Patchouli, Carrot Seed, Chamomile Roman, Rockrose and Neroli Oils

I use this every single day after a shower and love how the Body Cream with Shea Butter and Argan Oil sinks into my skin and softens it. I love velvet smooth skin!

I slather this on all over and love it especially after shaving my legs. This cream is super luxurious and the light scent (I can’t quite put my finger on what it is, but I love it) is pleasing and relaxing.

You will appreciate how soft your skin is thanks to Shea and Kokum butters plus Sweet Almond and Argan oils. Look at the photo above, don’t you just want to scoop out a handful and apply it? I am going to park this on my nightstand to apply to my hands before bed. Or maybe I should carry it with me everywhere so I can apply all day? It’s that good!

If you need a serum, this is an excellent one for all complexions and skin types! My tired aging skin drinks in the Violets Are Blue Facial Serum upon application. A special blend of Evening Primrose, Argan, Rosehip Oil, Jojoba oil along with Carrot Seed and Lavender essential oils, gives skin a dose of nourishment and moisture.

If you aren’t familiar with Carrot Seed oil, let me help you a little. This is a very powerful oil that is known to be antiseptic, disinfectant, detoxifying, antioxidant, anticarcinogenic and its loaded with Carotene and Vitamin-A. The antioxidants found in carrot seed oil protect skin from wrinkles, also helps repair any damage and aids in cell regeneration. It’s beneficial to the eye area, heals scars, aids in soothing skin irritation. And there’s more because this oil can be applied to nails and lips for extra hydration.

I’ve been using this serum for a few weeks now and love how it’s quickly absorbed into my skin.

There is also a really awesome lip balm which I use constantly because the winter air zaps moisture from my lips and I love the feeling applying this. Not waxy or thick, it’s a surge of pure hydration. Butters and oils make this perfect for dry, chapped lips.

I am impressed with everything I tried and am so happy for Cynthia for creating products that are seriously well-loved by skincare enthusiasts like Sarita Coren who highlighted this brand in a recent post- don’t miss it, read her feature right now!
