One of the skincare rules I strictly abide by is NEVER go to bed without removing all traces of makeup. I like to get my face as clean as possible then do the whole toner- eye cream- moisturizer/serum/oil- routine.
I thoroughly wash my face during my nightly shower and keep all my face cleaning instruments within easy reach.
Here’s what I use and why:
Muslin cloth– You don’t want to use a regular washcloth to remove makeup because it’s too rough! This is a kinder, gentler alternative. I usually apply coconut oil to my face then wipe it away, along with all the makeup I’ve worn on my face, with a warm, damp muslin cloth. You can use it around your eyes by pressing the cloth to your eyes and removing mascara. These are reusable and dry quickly! I use one every night.
Konjac sponge-A little miracle sponge that is completely natural. It contains minerals and antioxidants. “Konjac is rich in vitamins (A, B1, B2, B6, B12, C, D, & E), proteins, lipids, fatty acids and natural minerals such as copper, zinc, iron and magnesium.” (source) It removes dead skin, is non toxic and provides a gentle exfoliation. I use this as my last step in cleaning my face most nights. It will dry up in a small sponge and when you get it wet, it nearly doubles in size…which is kind of cool.

Clarisonic- I feel like the Clarisonic removes every last trace of dirt, makeup and oil from my skin. I also like the mini massage feeling of this gold standard tool. I’ve heard friends say their pores look smaller after using this but I am a fan because my skin is left ultra clean but never dry. Use with a creamy cleanser! (I recommend Josh Rosebrook’s Moisturizing Cleanser because its hydrating and smells amazing)
Bellabaci massage cup– This nifty tool helps draw impurities from pores, stimulates circulation, improves skin texture. I love using this because it makes my skin glow! You just need a drop of a moisturizing cleanser or oil then you can gently massage your entire face with this tool.
