Rediscovering old products & trying new ones

I recently tried out some new products which I’m excited about.  I’ve also revisited some old products which I was happy to rediscover. Here’s what I am using and loving right now!

Tarte Colored Clay CC Primer:  This soft stick is like a smooth powder you apply over your face, prepping it for a CC Cream.  It “brightens skin, evens skin tone, blurs imperfections and neutralizes any redness or discolorations.” I found that it did indeed do all of those things. I dabbed this on all over my face, blended with a nice angled brush from IT Cosmetics (this one right here is what I use and its ideal for foundation, primer and powder!

I expected the primer to be dry but on my semi-oily skin, it turned creamy and did a good job of disguising under eye circles- my main concern!

Once that groundwork is set, I brought out my Jane Iredale Glow Time Full Coverage Mineral BB Cream. This has an SPF 25, it contains nurturing ingredients and gives great coverage. My skin looks dewy,  not oily or greasy. I love this and glad I pulled it out again!

A product that does both cover and prime is Pur Minerals Primer in the peach shade. This is so great for a stand alone product to smooth skin and even skin tone, or you can add a little foundation over it for maximum coverage- but still natural and flawless. The Color Correcting Primer is really fantastic and you don’t much, just a dab on each cheek, forehead and chin then blend!

I’ve been using this new tool called The Makeup Guard Card from Ollie Girl. This tool is used to help you apply eye shadow, eye liner, mascara. You hold it up to your eye to prevent powder, mascara, etc from getting all over your face. I almost always end up with mascara streaks under my eyes- not any more! You can also do a great cats eye with this by using it almost as a guide for a straight smooth line. Brilliant!

Ma Belle Amie is a brand that comes to us from New York. Here’s what they say about their body butters, “Our premier line of butters feature unrefined “raw” organic shea butter derived from the nut of the karite tree in Northern Ghana. The butter carries USDA NOP organic certification.”

The body butter is truly sumptuous. It is indeed just like a silky butter that melts into your skin. I tried tried Spring Rain, a  Plumeria Body Butter. The scent is so heavenly, I have been using this right after a shower when my skin is warm and the body butter instantly adds moisture. This is made with organic shea butter, jojoba oil and grapeseed. The butter is housed in a glass jar that can (and will!) be  reused. Its a gorgeous product that is pure luxury.  Read more here!

I’ve pulled out my Juice Beauty Blush in Fig, and I’m glad I did. This color is ideal for this time of year, giving my pale cheeks a burst of a natural looking glow- kind of like I sat outside for a while (which I did NOT). Juice Beauty is a clean, green brand that I’ve been a fan of for a long time. I am also revisiting the conditioning Lip Color in Pink, which is such a nice smooth natural looking lip product. I’m in love all over again!

I just tried a new fragrance, Finn & Co. White Sand. This scent is beachy all the way. It really captures the essence of salt water and bright sun! Honeysuckle, Mandarin and Salt mix to create a scent that takes you right to the beach minus the sunburn and sand on your feet! This oil is cruelty free, does not contain parabens, sulfates, phthalates, or formaldehyde. Its probably going to be one of my summer faves!
