Friday Book Talk

Love you

I keep track of all of my books over on and I rarely give out 5 stars but I just had to for the upcoming novel I Love You More by Jennifer Murphy. Gosh, this kept me intrigued from the first page! The story is told from a few points of view: there’s the detective investigating the murder of Oliver Lane. There’s Picasso, the smart twelve  year old daughter of Diane and Oliver, and there are The Wives, the three women bound together by the deceptive ways of Oliver. When Oliver is murdered there are three scorned wives who are under the cloak of suspicion. Who committed the crime? Did they work together? What does Picasso know, what did she see on the morning of Oliver’s death?

This book combines jealously, loyalty, a bit of humor with wit and a page turning plot. This book is not out until June but mark your calenders, make a note. This book is one not to be missed!

This week, I’ve also been reading Cameron Diaz’s new book, The Body Book: The Law of Hunger, the Science of Strength, and Other Ways to Love Your Amazing Body. Its a really basic, easy to understand guide to health and fitness. Cameron details how the body works, what it needs and what she does to stay in such amazing shape.

There are not loads of photos of Cameron and she doesn’t write a whole lot about  herself- I wouldn’t have minded if she did because I always like personal anecdotes! This book is straightforward and written so that even someone with no knowledge of health and nutrition can easy follow along.

Grounded in science and informed by real life, The Body Book offers a comprehensive overview of the human body and mind, from the cellular level up. From demystifying and debunking the hype around food groups to explaining the value of vitamins and minerals, readers will discover why it’s so important to embrace the instinct of hunger and to satisfy it with whole, nutrient-dense foods. Cameron also explains the essential role of movement, the importance of muscle and bone strength and why we need to sweat a little every day.”

I think, and I’m sure Cameron would agree, that the way to be healthy is to consume lots of nutritious foods, stay away from sugar and get lots of sleep and adequate exercise. To get inspired, grab a copy of Cameron’s book!

I just wonder if she uses clean, non toxic and green beauty products…
