When I have the time, I love to treat myself to a great detox mask. One of these bad boys will pull impurities out, infuse skin with minerals and leave a noticeable glow.
My skin is aging, acne prone and slightly oily but when I was a teenager, my skin was really greasy and it would have benefited from any of these masks! Sometimes when I feel a pimple brewing, I apply any of these masks to immediately treat the area.
Below are my favorite detox masks, naturally they are all non toxic, free from harsh chemicals and every one of them is made in small batches.
Apply the mask to a clean, dry face and leave on for as long as you can- usually anywhere from 10-40 minutes. I remove with a warm washcloth then usually put a few drops of a serum or oil on my face and always my skin is glowing and refreshed.
Skip the expensive facials and try one of these masks instead.
Let’s take a look at my favorites!
Avreal Mineral Mask is terrific! Its made with kelp, french green clay, minerals, Palmarosa, and lavender. It is a powder that you mix with water then apply to your gorgeous face. Rich minerals from the ocean and earth treat your skin. *Great brand, affordable and natural. Avreal also offers a great skin remedy for pimples– I think a good mask and pimple treatment go hand in hand for blemish free skin.
Osmia Detox Face Mask is another winner. Ingredients include raw cacao and manuka honey, and toxin-removing activated bamboo charcoal. This mask treats, exfoliates and soothes skin. Add water to the powder and apply to the face. I recommend this for acne prone skin followed by Osmia’s Spot Treatment. What a powerful duo.
Josh Rosebrook Cacao Antioxidant Mask smells so good that I’ve been tempted to eat it! It looks like fudge too. But don’t eat it, just spread it all over your face. This magic mask tightens, brightens, and improves skin. It contains vitamins, minerals, amino and fatty acids and antioxidants. No mixing or anything with this mask, just gently scoop out with fingertips and apply.
May Lindstrom The Problem Solver is pretty intense in a good way. This powder is made from raw cacao, healing bamboo charcoal, soil nutrients, salts, and exotic warming spices. Some people have said their skin feels warm after applying- I find this to be a pleasant sensation. You mix the powder with water then apply- your best bet is to use a brush and paint it on skin. You can feel the toxins being sucked out! Not for the weak.
Thank goodness for all of the above because I didn’t know that gentle, yet non toxic and natural skincare like these even existed last year this time. I love using the power of nature to treat skin, don’t you?
