Every day, unless I’m traveling, I drink a big glass of something green. I either juice in my Breville Juicer (I have the smallest one) or I throw vegetables and fruit into my VitaMix. Whichever I do, I almost always throw in a green apple or two. Never a red apple, a green one.

Why?

Because these are the most nutritious of all the apples. All apples contain vitamins, minerals, and fiber but the sour Green Granny Smith ones are so good for you and have loads of anti-oxidants.

 

Green apples contain lots of fiber.

They offer lots of iron, zinc, copper, manganese, potassium.

Granny Smiths contains vitamin C, Vitamin A, Riboflavin, Vitamin B6.

Helps the thyroid gland function.

Prevents Diabetes. (Or as some people pronounce it, dia-beetus)

Green apples decrease chance of colon cancer.

Gives you energy thanks to natural carbohydrates.

Purifies blood.

Contains protein.

Stabilizes blood sugar. 

Helps prevent liver problems.

 

They are delicious whether you eat them whole, slice them up with cinnamon, eat with peanut butter, or juice them! If you are just starting out with juicing, I highly recommend starting out by juicing Granny Smith apples with romaine lettuce, add a lemon and a swirl of raw honey.
