Did you know that you can diagnose yourself by learning to read the clues your tongue provides? Along with Chinese Facial Mapping, your tongue holds important information regarding the inner workings of your body. Weird, but true!

Check your tongue. Do you have:

Lesions? This could indicate oral cancer.

Ulcers? An indication of high stress levels.

White, filmy coat? This is the perfect environment for bacterial infections.

“Traditional Chinese Medicine has been advocating and performing this type of visual inspection for thousands of years. In fact, tongue diagnosis is actually a very old practice that dates back to the Shang Dynasty, which began around 1600 B.C.”

Many people don’t even think about checking their tongue in the mirror but you should start. Your tongue can alert you to such issues as kidney and colon problems, heart trouble, lung issues, bronchitis, pneumonia. If your  body isn’t processing nutrients, this can be read from the tongue too. Reading the tongue can indicate anxiety and nervousness which I see on myself.

As you sleep at night, toxins clear out and are deposited on the tongue. Daily use of a tongue scraper is advised from the articles I’ve read, especially first thing in the morning to clean off any accumulation of bacteria and toxins. What is a tongue scraper? I’m glad you asked. Its a simple little tool thats U shaped and easily clears the tongue and removes anything gross. Apparently your taste buds are reinvigorated by using a tongue scraper, added bonus right there.

“Tongue cleaning revitalizes the throat and keeps the sinuses cleaner by reducing bacteria that can travel into the respiratory system. Many people who have struggled with sinus infections, sore throats, throat infections*, and chronic bad breath, may find added relief through regular tongue scraping.”

For about seven dollars you can buy a good tongue scraper like this one from Amazon. Its advised that you do NOT use your toothbrush to clean your tongue as there can be some cross contamination of germs.

Will you be diagnosing yourself via your tongue?
