What I Packed: Makeup Edition

Yes I could totally pack for several days carrying nothing but a backpack and carry-on but why would I? That means paring down and being brutal about which  beauty products to bring along. I want choices! However, even packing for a week or ten days you can’t pack every single item of makeup. This means being selective. Bring the basics with a little room for a few extras.

I could- and would if given the chance- pack a whole big suitcase full of shoes and another full of beauty products but my husband frowned upon more than one suitcase per person. I ended up bringing a pretty large makeup bag which fit into my big suitcase.

I never felt like I needed something extra or forgot anything important. Here’s what I brought  with me:

Pur Minerals Dark Spot Correcting Primer: Smooths skin, evens skin tone, adds light color. This, along with a little powder (my Marie Veronique sheer cover)  and concealer, was all I needed.

W3LL People Universalist Color Stick: This lasts all day! Great cheek color, I also used it as a lip color. I love a good multi-tasker!

Zuzu Luxe Mascara: Oh my gosh, if you havent tried this- get some. I love this mascara. My lashes look long and thick and dark, it washes off well and doesn’t smear or smudge.

W3LL People Eye Liner: a simple black eye liner that’s about as perfect as you can get and still be natural. I use this all the time.

Burts Bees Lip Shimmer: I’ve long been a fan of the Lip Shimmer. Im aware that this isnt as non-toxic and natural as it could be and I wish they’d change their ingredients so it was but I do love this product.

Tarte 12 Hour Blush: Not as natural as I want either (come on Tarte!) but this lasts all day long and I love the perfect pink color.

Bee Naturals Lip Gloss in Strawberry: Perfection non-toxic lip gloss. Lots of shine and moisture. Love it, use it all the time.

Bare Minerals new READY eye palette: Great mineral makeup and the new palette, called READY is so wonderful and versatile with smooth color, great shades and the colors are perfect for day and night. You can really play with this one and it eliminates the need for several eyeshadows since its in one mirrored palette. Use the brown shades on eyebrows too.

Afterglow Eye Concealer: Hides under eye circles, works to de-puff and lasts all day.

Afterglow Lip Glosses: Great shades, nice texture. I used both the pink and the red and blended them together for evenings. I plan on ordering more.

Bare Minerals Pressed Powder (not pictured): I need a pressed powder and this is a great one, although not 100% natural as I wish. I only use a bit on my T-zone and it never fails me. I like these Mineral Powders for the light consistency.
