A rose by any other name…

I love the light fragrance of a fresh rose. Unfortunately its often difficult to bottle and the lovely scent doesn’t always translate well reminding many people of old lady perfumes. When I find a gorgeously rose scented product, I want to shout it out! Or in this case, post it here. And if the products happen to be natural or organic or made from essential oils then all the better, right?

I am obsessing over Thymes Kimono Rose. This scent is light but complex thanks to notes that include clementine and  cassis with  white peony and jasmine petals and a hint of vanilla. It comes in cologne,  body lotion, bubble bath, home fragrance mist and more. It’s the perfect mix of floral but with that lovely vanilla mixed it to  keep it from being overwhelming.

Nature’s Gate makes a wonderful Rose scented hand cream that is made with rosehips, calendula, clary sage and organic sunflower oil and shea butter. Its free of any nasty chemicals as is all products from  Nature’s Gate. The Persimmon & Rose Geranium Shampoo and Conditioner, also from Nature’s Gate, smells so good that I want to use then all over my body. This particular shampoo and conditioner help dry, color treated hair with a “blend of Wheat Proteins and patented Sunflower Seed Extract.” The botanical essences in the products come from an organic field.

I also use and love Olivina Honeysuckle Rose body butter and LaLicious Sugar Kiss which  is a blend of citrus, rose, and vanilla. I am currently scraping the last of these out of the tubes and am not happy about it.

If you really love rose, try Jo Malone’s Red Roses perfume or Carnal Flower, Une Rose or Lipstick Rose by Frederic Malle. I recently discovered Manhattan Rose 44 by Krigler which is another gorgeous, lush rose scented fragrance.
